FRIDAY-SUNDAY 9-11TH OCTOBER: the utterly fabulous FANTASY CON in GLASGOW at the Crowne Plaza, next to the SECC. Organised by the equally fabulous BRITISH FANTASY SOCIETY.

Lots going on here.

FRIDAY 9TH: I’ll be going to lots of panels and other events and generally making a nuisance of myself. I’ll also be looking to pick up my copy of the HELEN OF TROY anthology, published by Flame Tree, which contains my story “EXCLUSIVE! Helen of Troy’s Most Revealing Interview Yet!”

SATURDAY 10TH: First up, with an early start at 9.00 AM, is the WIZARD’S TOWER PRESS “THEY ARE STILL HERE” BOOK LAUNCH in the Orkney Room. It’s an anthology of stories inspired by Welsh folklore and mythology. I’ll be reading from my story “BITE! BITE! BITE!”. Along with other authors from the book, I’ll be signing copies. Come early for the pastries (because, honestly, authors are just gannets).

Then at 10.00 AM I’ll rush over to the Hebrides Room for READING GROUP 8 (HORROR) where I’ll be reading an extract from one of my novels. Expect some vile unpleasantness.

At 3 PM, I’m moderating the panel HOW WEIRD CAN WEIRD FICTION GET? in the Orkney Room. Warning: may include weirdness.

8.00 PM, Main Room: THE BRITISH FANTASY SOCIETY AWARDS. I’m one of the judges for Best Horror Novel.

SUNDAY 11th: 2 PM in the Orkney Room, I’m participating in the panel THE IMPORTANCE OF READING FOR LIFE.

Phew! And that’s without the endless panels, reading groups, workshops and book launches I want to go to. Sadly, the BFS refuse to loan out their cloning device, which we all know they have hidden away in their secret lair.
